David Spencer CPA

EDUCATION:

David Spencer C.P.A. is a Graduate of the University of Oregon’s Charles H. Lundquist college of business. During his college career he served on many committees and represented students both on campus and in Washington, DC as a member of student government.

He was a Founding member of the Oregon Business Consulting Group Management Team. In this role, David worked with area firms to complete consulting engagements. He was a team lead on 2 projects, leading 5 undergraduate students and delivered actionable results for clients.

This experience caused David to apply for and earn acceptance into the NuHaudu School of Business prestigious International exchange Internship. In this position, David was in Beijing, China for two months working with Globebill, Inc. a large cross-border payment provider in the Asian market. He led a team of 4 international interns from the UK, Denmark, and the Netherlands in presenting an entry strategy for the Chinese firm into the European union market. Feedback from the client was that the recommendations we both actionable and clear to execute.

EXPERIENCE

Post-Graduation Mr. Spencer began work at a small family CPA office in Portland, Or that catered to high net worth individuals and closely held entities. This exposed him to high level concepts and particularly complex transactions early in his career. Further, he had a seat at the table during succession planning operations.

Moving on from this firm to sunny Florida in 2018, Mr. Spencer began work at a local regional firm that has since been acquired by an international Accounting firm. This experience allowed Mr. Spencer to hone skills and master the practice of business tax preparation and overall client service at the highest level.

WHAT IS MY WHY?

In the midst of the 2020 pandemic Mr. Spencer decided to found DKS CPA. He saw an opportunity and wanted to use the skills he had developed to serve small businesses and provide them with the high level of service that he had been accustomed to providing. Mr. Spencer has a passion for helping people reach their goals for their lives and businesses. This is what drives him each day.

Luisa is CPA licensed in the state of Illinois and currently pursuing the license in the state of Florida. She graduated from University of Oregon (Go Ducks!) in 2015 with a Bachelor degree in Accounting and a minor in Economics.

Luisa is a native Spanish speaker originally from the Dominican Republic. She has worked for many years in several industries ranging from public accounting, hospitality, and banking. Working in these industries has made her a well-rounded professional that enjoys working with clients from diverse backgrounds and always strives to help clients with their tax and accounting compliance needs.
